Inntel's Sustainable Venue Programme (SVP) helps you identify venues that are committed to embedding sustainable practices into their operations. Participating venues are highlighted within your venue proposals with a green leaf icon, making it easier to recognise options that align with your organisation's sustainability objectives.
The programme recognises venues that are actively working to reduce their environmental impact while creating positive social outcomes and demonstrating responsible business practices.
Rather than being a formal accreditation, the Sustainable Venue Programme supports and encourages continuous improvement. Participating venues commit to implementing sustainable initiatives across six key areas:
- Certification & Continuous Improvement – working towards or maintaining recognised sustainability certifications while continually improving ESG performance.
- Carbon Reduction & Transparency – setting measurable carbon reduction targets and monitoring progress.
- Energy & Resource Efficiency – reducing energy consumption, increasing the use of renewable energy and improving resource efficiency.
- Sustainable Event Operations – offering digital-first solutions, reducing waste and providing greener event options where possible.
- Sustainable Catering – promoting locally sourced, seasonal menus with a strong focus on plant-based and vegetarian options.
- Wellbeing & Social Impact – supporting employee wellbeing and contributing positively to local communities through initiatives such as apprenticeships, partnerships and charitable activities.
To help maintain the integrity of the programme, Inntel works collaboratively with participating venues through regular reviews and ongoing engagement to monitor progress against their sustainability commitments.
Choosing a venue that participates in the Sustainable Venue Programme can help organisations make more informed decisions when planning meetings and events, while supporting suppliers that share their commitment to sustainability, responsible business practices and continuous improvement.
