An open return allows you flexibility on when you take your return journey, usually within one calendar month.
Booking an Open Return
To book an Open Return in LOGiC, search for a return journey and select an Anytime or Off-Peak return ticket.
You'll need to enter a return date when you search, but as long as you select one of the ticket types below, you'll have an Open Return.

When can I travel with an Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak ticket?
Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak times vary between train companies and on different routes, so do check before you travel. In general, the off-peak period will start after normal commuting hours. Typically this will be:
Off-Peak Times: From 09:30 until 16:00 and after 19:00.
Super Off-Peak Times: From 10:00 until 15:30 and after 19:15.
Your ticket will have a restriction type which will tell you when your ticket is valid for your journey. You can find this in LOGiC:
1. Search for your ticket
2. Click Ticket Info link
3. If Ticket Restrictions are available, there will be link to National Rail. Click the link to view the restrictions for your ticket.
Why do I have to select a return date to book an Open Return?
When booking a return ticket, our rail provider requires that a return date and time are selected before searching. As long as you select one of the ticket types shown above, you will have an Open Return ticket.
